Vertiv is gearing up for a major expansion in Asia as the company announces plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, which is slated to go fully operational in the first quarter of 2026.
The site will produce a mix of Vertiv power and thermal management solutions, including coolant distribution units, along with modular and prefabricated data center systems – all part of Vertiv’s push to keep up with surging demand for AI-ready, high-density computing infrastructure.
The upcoming Johor plant will become a key hub for supporting fast-growing markets across the region, helping Vertiv accelerate delivery timelines, increase production capacity, and better support next-gen technologies such as AI and machine learning. And because Johor sits right next to Singapore while offering strong logistics and stable utilities, it checks all the boxes for scalable tech manufacturing.
Andrew Whall, Vice President of Operations at Vertiv Asia, summed it up by saying the new facility marks a major milestone for Vertiv’s global network as it gives the company the scale, flexibility, and proximity needed to support customers quickly and reliably, while also reflecting Vertiv’s long-term commitment to growth and manufacturing excellence.
To support the ramp-up, Vertiv plans to add up to 500 skilled local jobs over the next 3 years. The factory itself will lean heavily on modern automation technologies to create a streamlined, efficient production setup focused on quality and sustainability.
