Samsung Malaysia’s latest product addition is not related to the smartphones or tablet market but to the PC gang as they announced the availability of the T7 Shield portable SSD today.

Samsung T7 Shield 1

The T7 Shield brings a wide variety of powerful features to any user that prioritizes performance, security, durability, and style all packed within a small form factor the size of a credit card. For starters, this model is the child of Samsung’s latest effort to create the best portable SSD with utmost physical resistance as it can take a drop up to 3 meters tall and can easily tackle any water and dust-related issues with its IP65 rating. Its weight comes in at just 98grams which means the materials used to create the SSD casing are both light and strong.

Onto the performance graph, the T7 Shield delivers read speeds of up to 1,050MBps and write speeds of up to 1000MBps thanks to the usage of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. Samsung also gave extra attention to the model by ensuring there is no performance degradation happening over the course of large file transfers even at 2TB or more. Therefore, users can cram large numbers of high-definition pictures and video files with zero worries not only about performance but also peace of mind in security handled by the hardware-based 256-bit AES cryptographic technique.

To comply with environmental sustainability goals, the T7 Shield will come with less amount of packaging to minimize greenhouse gas emissions during production.
