Samsung has officially wrapped up its 2025 Odyssey Cup Counter-Strike 2 Championship, which blessed Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, with loads of cheering and top-tier CS2 action from December 12-14.
The top 8 teams from Southeast Asia and Oceania went head-to-head in person for a total prize pool of US$50,000, with Australia’s SemperFi Esports came out on top, defeating Indonesia’s Deep Cross Gaming to secure the championship title and the US$20,000 grand prize, while SemperFi’s standout player Kristers Darznieks was named MVP and walked away with an additional US$2,000 for his performance.
Malaysia’s Beyman Esports and Australia’s Ground Zero Gaming rounded out the standings in third and fourth place, respectively, adding to what was already a highly competitive finals weekend.
Speaking about the win, SemperFi Esports team captain James Savage shared how his passion for gaming started at just nine years old, and how watching the professional scene shaped his ambitions to compete on stage at the highest level. He also highlighted how crucial the right equipment is in competitive play, pointing to features like a 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and strong visual contrast as essentials for a gaming monitor.
Fittingly, the tournament was powered by Samsung’s Odyssey G5 G50F QHD 180Hz gaming monitors, which deliver QHD resolution alongside a fast 180Hz refresh rate and ultra-responsive 1ms response time, designed to provide the clarity and precision needed for high-level Counter-Strike 2 matches.
