At this point in time, we’re all trying to get an “office at home” setup. Be it just a laptop, a desktop, or even a full-fledged home workstation with multiple monitors and such. Dell just announced the arrival of the new XPS Desktop featuring a brand new design with updated specs, and also new S-series of monitors.

Dell XPS Desktop 8940

Dell is paying attention to the design this time around as the XPS Desktop is available in both black and white colors. The tower itself seems to be very tiny, as it only occupies 19 liters of space while offering a bunch of expandability options. Dell also highlighted that the XPS Desktop offers tool-less chassis as well.

It supports up to 2×3.5-inch and also 2×2.5-inch disk drive bays alongside with an ODD, and also triple PCIe slots that work at x1, x4, and x16 lanes. This tiny little tower can also support up to four DIMM slots, totaling up to 128GB of RAM.

As for the core specs, this XPS Desktop is available at up to the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i9 processor and up to the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super. This is surely a powerful machine and it can handle pretty much everything that we throw at it.

According to the specs sheet, Dell is including up to a 500W power supply and the recommended maximum GPU is at 225W via the 2×6-pin connectors. If power is not your concern, then the length of the GPU is also a limitation. This new XPS Desktop supports graphic cards of up to 10.5-inches in length, or about 26.67cm.

And this XPS Desktop now comes in either Mineral White or Night Sky colors – which definitely is something interesting. By the way, there’s also a full-sized SD card reader for its front I/O.

New S-series of monitors

The new S-series of monitors now come with a sleeker design and comes in Platinum Silver color too. This new series of monitors range from 27-inches to 32-inches in size diagonally, and they all have integrated speakers, 99% sRGB color gamut alongside AMD FreeSync technology – because the implementation is free anyway.
