Samsung has unveiled its Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship, a premier esports event that will see professional and amateur gamers from Southeast Asia and Oceania regions.
Featuring Dota 2 as the main title, this tournament introduces a new Pro vs. Amateur format and is open to gamers aged 18 and above, offering a competitive experience while highlighting Samsung’s latest esports-ready gaming monitors, including the 32-inch Odyssey G8 OLED and 27-inch Odyssey G6 OLED.
The tournament includes dual qualifiers across six SEA countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, with two winners advancing to the finals alongside four invited pro. These teams will then battle for a top spot in the grand final.
Meanwhile, two teams from Oceania — New Zealand and Australia — will enter the final playoffs, completing the roster of eight teams who will compete for the regional championship title and a total cash prize pool of up to US$20,000.
The tournament will begin with online qualifiers from 21 to 25 September 2024, followed by the SEA finals on 28 and 29 September 2024. The top eight teams will then battle it out for the championship in a grand finale at the Hatten Hotel in Melaka, with the playoffs set for 10 to 13 October 2024.
