The new Dell Gaming division of budget-oriented gaming laptops is pretty new. This year, the latest Dell Gaming G5 15 (5500) laptop is rather surprising as for us Malaysians, the price starts at RM4,499. Rather competitive, actually.
The laptop looks pretty similar to what we saw last year at Computex 2019, but we’re unsure why the images here show that the laptop’s lid is covered in glitter. Even the Dell emblem on the laptop’s lid is now reflecting different colors when looking at it at angles.
As for the specs, the new Dell Gaming G5 15 5500 comes with:
- Up to Intel Core i7-10750H
- Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q
- Three different variants of 15.6-inch displays:
- 1080p 60Hz
- 1080p 144Hz
- 1080p 300Hz
- Up to 32GB DDR4 RAM
While we have not reviewed any Dell Gaming laptops before, the new Dell Gaming G5 15 5500 is quite interesting as it is priced competitively among other laptops in the market. Backed with Dell’s aftersales service, Dell can have an upper hand here.
For us Malaysians, the Dell Gaming G5 15 5500 will be available starting with the Intel Core i5 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti with the starting price of RM4,499. It will be available for sale starting 26th May 2020.
