It hasn’t been a month since Corsair announced its Vengeance LPX DDR4-4866 kit and we’re already seeing an even faster DDR4 kit in the list – Vengeance LPX DDR4-5000 CL18 kit which was spotted on Corsair’s Vengeance LPX product page and retailed for $1,224.99 USD.
We’re not entirely sure when did Corsair added the Vengeance LPX DDR4-5000 to the list, but it’s clear that these kits are meant for the enthusiasts and overclockers who are into memory overclocking. As of now, we have yet to see any significant benefit gamers can gain from having memory speed that goes beyond 4000MHz.
Looking at the specifications of the Vengeance LPX DDR4-5000, the kit comes in a pair (8GB x 2) and it has a native speed of 2666MHz with timings of CL18-18-18-43. It’s capable to run at 5000MHz via XMP, with timings of CL18-26-26-46 and 1.5V VDimm. Corsair also included the Vengeance Airflow to help out with cooling of the kit during operation, since it’ll get a little toasty if it’s going to run at 5000MHz on air cooling instead of LN2.
Also, proper parts and components are required in order to run this kit at DDR4-5000 i.e 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU paired with high-end X570 motherboards, or perhaps Intel’s Core i9-9900K paired with a high-end Z390 motherboard.
