Cadence has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate its ChipStack AI Super Agent with Gemini, marking a step forward in the industry’s shift toward agentic AI-driven chip design and verification. The move positions Cadence to deliver a more scalable, cloud-native platform that embeds AI agents directly into semiconductor development workflows.
The partnership will see the tighter coupling between Cadence’s electronic design automation (EDA) tools and Gemini’s large language model capabilities, which provide the ChipStack AI Super Agent to execute tasks across digital design, testbench development, verification planning, regression management, and automated debugging.
It is said that this new augment can deliver up to 10x productivity gains, while reducing development cycles and accelerating time to tapeout.
Cadence highlights its proprietary Mental Model technology as a key differentiator, allowing the AI agent to perform more structured reasoning by leveraging native EDA skills. This approach is designed to improve the accuracy and reliability of LLM-generated outputs, addressing a common challenge in applying generative AI to complex engineering domains.
The collaboration also leans on Google Cloud’s infrastructure to provide the compute backbone required for large-scale AI reasoning and EDA execution. By combining elastic cloud resources with agent-driven automation, the platform enables a “click-to-deploy” model for end-to-end chip design and verification, lowering barriers to adoption for enterprise teams.
The ChipStack AI Super Agent is now available via the Google Cloud Marketplace, signaling immediate commercial readiness.
