AI has already transformed chip design workflows, but the growing complexity of modern systems means the challenge no longer stops at the silicon. From AI servers and hyperscale data centers to automotive, aerospace and robotics, engineers are now dealing with increasingly sophisticated packages, PCBs, cooling systems and power delivery requirements that all need to work together as a single platform.

Cadence is looking to address that challenge with the introduction of AuraStack AI Super Agent on Allegro AI Studio, which it describes as the world’s first agentic AI platform built specifically for PCB and advanced packaging design. The new AI system extends Cadence’s growing portfolio of AI-powered design agents and aims to take teams from early planning all the way to final product realization within a single AI-native workflow.

Cadence AuraStack AI Agent Announce

Powered by NVIDIA Blackwell and NVIDIA CUDA-X acceleration, AuraStack AI Super Agent coordinates multiple domain-specific AI agents that work across planning, implementation and multiphysics analysis. Rather than relying on separate tools and manual handoffs between teams, the platform is designed to orchestrate the entire process while continuously optimizing designs as they evolve.

Its multiphysics-driven approach is capable of simultaneously model and optimize electrical, thermal and mechanical behavior in a closed-loop environment, allowing engineers to evaluate tradeoffs much earlier in development. Signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, mechanical stress, vibration and fatigue can all be analyzed continuously rather than waiting until the final stages of validation.

This continuous feedback loop is intended to help designs converge faster while reducing the risk of discovering critical problems late in the development cycle. It also gives engineering teams a shared environment with a single source of truth, helping different disciplines collaborate without constantly moving data between disconnected workflows.

According to Cadence, AuraStack AI Super Agent can accelerate time to market by up to 2x while delivering as much as 15x higher productivity. The company also says the platform can help reduce costly redesigns by identifying system-level issues earlier and enabling product-level optimization, including co-optimization with advanced packaging technologies.

The platform also brings together several of Cadence’s existing simulation and signoff technologies, including Celsius Thermal Solver, Clarity 3D Solver, Sigrity X Platform, and MSC Nastran and Marc finite element analysis solvers, creating an integrated environment for electrical, thermal and mechanical validation throughout the design flow.

The release of AuraStack joins the existing lineup of agentic AI solutions. namely ChipStack, InnoStack, ViraStack that forms a more cohesive AI-augmented electronic system design flow.
