It’s Gamescom week and today is the first day – yet Alienware is starting with a blast here. Introducing the new Alienware AW2720HF. This is Alienware’s latest, fastest gaming monitor in the market as it is a 1080p IPS LCD monitor that has 240Hz refresh rate with 1ms GtG response time. What?

Yea – you read that right. This is a 27-inch 1080p monitor that uses IPS LCD technology for better colors and viewing angle, yet is capable of 240Hz refresh rate with 1ms GtG response time. Usually, this type of speed is only doable in TN panels – but Alienware somehow managed to get it to work with an IPS LCD panel. We’ve already seen this new Alienware AW2720HF back at Computex 2019 in the Whisper Suite – and it is awesome.

Though, Alienware said that it is only able to achieve the 240Hz refresh rate with 1ms response time in Extreme mode. We’ll have to wait and try it out ourselves to really know what this means.

The new Alienware AW2720HF also supports AMD Radeon FreeSync to prevent screen tearing – which is especially useful here given that screen tearing would be more apparent on such a high-speed display.

Since this monitor is using an IPS panel, it is able to deliver 99% sRGB color gamut too. Of course, since it is a gaming monitor, it comes with Alienware’s AlienFX lighting too.

As for ergonomics, it has an adjustable stand and tilt adjustment. You can also route your cables through the base of the stand and make them disappear with the included cover. Neat.

As of now, we do not have the local pricing for the Alienware AW2720HF but it will be available some time mid-November 2019.
