Acer has revealed the new 2022 models of the Swift 5 and Swift 3 carrying the latest CPU offering from Intel.
Entering with a striking stance is the 2022 Swift 5 adopting a sleek and classy Black and Gold color combo to fit into any business use case with ease thanks to the CNC-machined unibody chassis made of aerospace-grade aluminum. The inside is packed with a 12th Gen Intel Core mobile CPU of up to 12 cores with the Iris Xe Graphics paired with a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. As video conferences of the highest level of business can make or break a deal, the FHD MIPI webcam will portray a clear view of the user. Amping the user experience is the OceanGlass touchpad manufactured with ocean-bound plastic, a fingerprint reader with Windows Hello, and a 10-hour battery life – all of these complies with the standards of the Intel Evo Platform. Taking the topic back to the display, it is a touchscreen running at a 16:10 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2560×1600 covered by an additional layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass that gives it resistance against the little microbes while being durable. The I/O port count is okay as it has 2x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, and 1x HDMI 2.1.
Meanwhile, the Swift 3 fills the shoes of a Swift 5 but with a more compact size and slightly fewer premium components in exchange for a lower price tag. Despite that, it still comes with the latest 12 Gen Intel Core mobile processors and up to 2TB of SSD storage for memory options together with a 16:9 QHD or FHD touch display. Don’t be fooled by the reduction in computing power because, for someone that only uses them for video calls and stuff, the FHD webcam with the Acer TNR technology providing noise-reduced video footage still serves its purpose to the fullest. For I/O, the premium Thunderbolt 4 port is gone, it still has USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI 2.1 for the most basic I/O port setup.
Global Pricing
While local pricing is not yet finalized, Acer has revealed that the new Swift 5 laptop will be available in the coming days starting at USD1,499 while the Swift 3 is at USD849.99.
