Introducing, the new Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34″. This is the company’s first foray into the PC gaming market in Malaysia, and it’s rather interesting since they picked a curved 34″ ultra-wide monitor.
As for the specs, the Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34″ comes with 3440×1440 pixels in resolution, and obviously with a 21:9 aspect ratio since it is an ultra-wide monitor. And it also comes with a 1500R curvature, if that’s what you seek for.
It also boasts 144Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time too. Xiaomi also claims 121% sRGB color gamut coverage, which is still less than the full Adobe RGB coverage but it’s good enough.
This monitor also supports AMD FreeSync, but we’re not sure if it is certified for G-Sync compatibility as the website does not mention anything.
From the looks of it, seems like this monitor doesn’t have VESA mount?
This new Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34″ is available for purchase starting from 24th August 2020 for the price of RM1,999 and will be available at both the official Xiaomi store on Lazada, and offline at all Authorized Mi Stores in Malaysia and through other official offline retailers.
On paper, I’d say that this monitor is head to head with the Acer Nitro XV340CKP that we’ve reviewed a few months ago. I personally bought that monitor and they’re both ultra-wide monitors with 1440p resolution, but the XV340CKP is flat. Depending on your use case, the curvature might or might not suit you.
Still, I’ve been using ultra-wide monitors for more than 5 years now and I’m curious to know how this monitor performs.
