Cloud-based accounting solution firm Xero has launched a new live integration of Claude into its offering, which allows Xero’s financial data to flow into AI-driven conversations in real time.

On the user side, this means small business owners can now interact with their financial data without switching tools. Within Claude, users can pull up cash positions, review overdue invoices, track profit trends, and analyze revenue performance, all directly tied to live Xero data instead of static exports. At the same time, those insights can be pushed back into Xero, where users can take action on invoices, contacts, or reporting details.

From a technical standpoint, the integration is designed around live data access rather than snapshots, which allows users to see up-to-date financial positions and performance metrics. Key areas include revenue and profit tracking, receivables and overdue payments visibility, and real-time cash flow insights covering assets and liabilities.

Not only does this integration prioritize data privacy, as none of them are funneled into training Anthropic models, but the new partnership is also part of the broader plan to push the Xero OS Vision further.

Chief Product & Technology Officer Diya Jolly highlighted that bringing trusted financial context into Claude helps bridge everyday AI usage with structured accounting data, enabling more immediate decision-making during ongoing conversations about business operations and strategy.
