Xero has announced the launch of Industry Benchmarks in Xero Analytics to expand enterprise-grade insights for small businesses and their financial advisors.

The benchmarking system turns real-time, anonymised, and aggregated financial data from global customers into comparable performance metrics, allowing businesses to evaluate their financial health against peer cohorts at the specific industry and country level.
Meanwhile, the tracking system monitors nine critical drivers of overall business health, focusing closely on debtor days to isolate slow-paying client patterns, sales revenue growth to evaluate scaling efforts against the industry median, and operating efficiency through a detailed analysis of cost-to-income ratios.
Next, the AI-powered prioritization engine interprets these active data sets to surface recommended operational actions, helping clear away guesswork for small firms during volatile periods. When combined, all of these automated capabilities are housed natively inside the Xero operating system, integrating alongside the JAX assistant, which automates routine administrative tasks and surfaces real-time financial insights on the unified dashboard.
This standardized reporting layout serves as a strategic advisory launchpad to spark proactive conversations between small business owners and their external accountants or bookkeepers.
