TerraMaster has announced its latest 2-bay NAS F2-424 2-bay NAS, which boasts the Intel Celeron N95 4-core 4-thread processor, 8GB DDR5 memory, two M.2 NVMe sockets, a USB Type-C host interface, and a USB Type-A interface, as well as the latest TOS 5.1 operating system.
Thanks to the stronger CPU and DDR5 memory, the F2-424 boasts a significant performance upgrade that results in a 140% improvement over its predecessor. It is also equipped with two 2.5 GbE interfaces and can achieve up to 283 MB/s for linear data transmission. Plus, Link Aggregation delivers a network bandwidth of up to 5 Gb, offering a cost-effective solution for multi-user and high-concurrent file access.
The enhanced security of user data is ensured through multiple backup applications such as Centralized Backup, Duple Backup, Snapshot, CloudSync, TFM Backup, and so on. Additionally, the F2-424 is compatible with various RAID types which include RAID 0/1/JBOD/Single, and TRAID.
Furthermore, the F2-424 packs 4K video decoding capability and supports uPnP/DLNA protocol to stream videos to a wide range of multimedia devices by using TerraMaster’s proprietary application Multimedia Server or other compatible third-party ones.
For simple and convenient M.2 SSD installation, the brand also deployed a specially designed side sliding cover for the F2-424 chassis, alongside hand-tightened screws to make the installation of an SSD complete almost instantly. It also has a new structure that achieves a low noise level in standby mode of only 19dB(A).
