NVIDIA has released the launch details for its redesign of one of Valve’s most classic video games — Portal — with advanced graphics capabilities like full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, and many more to give the game a brand-new eye-catching design and feel.

NVIDIA Portal with RTX launch details 1

Available as a free DLC for Steam owners of Portal on 8th December 2022, the gameplay has been overhauled with stunning full ray tracing, new hand-crafted hi-resolution physically-based textures, as well as new enhanced high-poly models evocative of the originals.

Furthermore, Portal with RTX adopts a range of demanding graphics techniques that are accelerated by NVIDIA DLSS technology to achieve a spectacular new look.

For users with 40 Series graphics cards, DLSS 3 gives over a 2.8X increase in performance which makes the game extra smooth and snappy in comparison to native rendering. On the other hand, DLSS 2 will benefit those with 30 series graphics cards and bring the game to a playable experience.

That’s not all, NVIDIA is also inviting gamers to join the launch party of Portal with RTX via its official Twitch, YouTube, and Steam on 7th December 2022, 2 AM GMT+8 for a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Portal with RTX, new gameplay, special surprises, giveaways of game codes, as well as a chance to win the latest GeForce RTX 4090 and GeForce RTX 4080 GPUs.
