Brands such as MSI, NVIDIA, Corsair and Genysis Cyber E-Sports are working together with Battle Arena for the tournament. Flight of the Valkyries aims to be the voice of female empowerment in esports. It will serve to increase the awareness of the female community in this male-dominated industry, as there are many passionate female gamers who have been deterred from pursuing a career in the esports industry due to the lack of a friendly environment and opportunities.

Flight of the Valkyries will be the first-ever LAN international DOTA 2 championships exclusively for women, serving as the only available offline platform for women to hone their skills and compete against one another in a professional setting. Battle Arena mentioned that Flight of the Valkyries will be an annual event to encourage more females gamers to go professional.

Registration is opened to all female teams residing in the Southeast Asian and China region. There are no restrictions as to each team’s nationality composition as we want to encourage as much participation as possible.

South East Asia Online Open Qualifiers begins on the 29th December 2018. 8 qualified teams will be flown to Malaysia to compete at the Grand Finals on the 19th – 20th January 2019 at Battle Arena Malaysia.
