Acer launched several new products today for the celebration of its 30th anniversary in Malaysia. Part of the new lineups include the new Acer Spin 3, TravelMate P6 for laptops and Aspire C27 which is a new All-in-One desktop computer.
These products were first revealed during CES 2020 and cover a wide range of users, from casual students, gamers to industry professionals looking to boost productivity or just pure entertainment. Acer is looking to stand firm in the coming years by focusing products with higher market demand and finetune them with community feedback.
Acer Spin 3
The Spin models are the convertible laptops line up for Acer and now there is a new guy in the office. It comes in at only 1.5kg of weight and 16.9mm thin completed with aluminium chassis that fits into backpacks or briefcases easily. A 78% screen-to-body ratio is achieved thanks to the 7.82mm thin bezels surrounding a 14-inch Full HD panel with touchscreen support that smoothens the experience of multitasking and enjoying digital content.
For the professionals that want pinpoint accuracy, the Acer Active Stylus does the job using Wacom AES (active electrostatic) technology. With 4,096 pressure levels available, the feeling of ink and paper can be replicated with ease. There is also a dock for storage and quick-charging, clocking in at 90 minutes of usage just with a 15-second charge.
At RM3,199, it comes with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM while the Core i3 variant has 4GB of RAM priced at RM2,699. Both variants come with 512GB of NVMe storage and the stylus. The first 5 units of any variant come with a free Bluetooth speaker by Urbanista Sydney worth RM219.
Acer TravelMate P614
A part of Intel’s “Project Athena”, the TravelMate P614 is a literal power brick. Featuring 20 hours of battery life with a fast charge function that recharges up to 50% within 45 minutes, the laptop prioritizes battery life and responsiveness for professionals on the go.
Certified by MIL-STD810G and 810F military durability tests, it can handle accidents like its nothing. Weighing in at 1.1kg and 16.6mm thin, it is equipped with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB DDR4 memory, NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics (optional) and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe SSD. The latest WiFi 6 module and Thunderbolt 3 ports can be found too.
The security feature of this laptop truly delivers. Not only there is Windows Hello integration within the webcam that comes with a physical cover, but it can also be unlocked via fingerprint readers while hardware-based encryption through Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip protects your password and private keys. On the other hand, the pre-loaded Acer ProShield includes a security suite and tools that help safeguard sensitive data and Acer Office Management help deploy security policies and monitor assets from one unified interface.
The Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce MX250, and 1TB storage variant come in at RM6,299 while the Intel Core i5, 512GB storage without the MX250 is priced at RM4,899.
Acer Aspire C27-962 & C24-962
The Acer Aspire All-In-One PC is the solution of stylish looks and practical features for students and families alike. The Aspire C27-962 features 10th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce MX130, 512GB SSD plus 1TB 2.5-inch HDD coupled with a 27-inch Full HD IPS Anti-Glare display while the C24-962 variant is at a lower specifications of 10th Gen Intel Core i3, 128GB SSD at a resolution of 1920×1080 at 23.8-inch with other features similar to the prior model.
There are 4 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports for connecting peripherals and an HDMI-out port for your second screen. Several features such as BlueLightShield for reduced blue light exposure, Flickerless technology to cut down screen flickering for comfort and physical webcam cover are there to protect users in terms of privacy and wellbeing.
The Aspire C27-962 is priced at RM3,499 while the C24-862 has a price tag of RM2,879.
