The most notable thing about the 2021 models of the Nitro 5 is the AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU that has already been known to be a beast in multi-threaded workloads, especially in the mobile sector. Coupled with newly released RTX 30 series GPUs a couple of months ago, what you have here is the superior cost-to-performance machine with very little budget spent on the “gamer” side of things. Cheap options are available as well, replacing the RTX 30s with the GTX 1650 that satisfies most triple-A titles on medium settings.

Alongside these new AMD laptops, Acer Malaysia also revealed a new budget high refresh rate gaming laptop, the Nitro QG241Y P which is a 23.8-inch VA panel-equipped display capable of churning out 165 frames per second with 1ms response time alongside AMD FreeSync. The HDR10 certification also means casual support for games and movies is available as well. It is priced at RM749 but will be at RM699 only between April 14 to April 16 on Shopee and Lazada.
