Ubisoft has announced that its new open-world pirate multiplayer game — Skull and Bones — will be released on 8th November 2022 and available with cross-play and cross-progression on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, as well as Windows PC via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
Skull and Bones is based on one of history’s deadliest periods, the end of the 17th century. It sets the stage for a chaotic and ruthless era of pirates, warring factions, powerful organizations, and empires all striving for supremacy in the Indian Ocean.
Ranging from accepting contracts, gathering resources, navigating important trade routes, and attacking wealthy merchant ships, each decision that the players make will influence their journey, with varying levels of risk and reward. Players will be able to fully craft and personalize their naval fleet as their Infamy grows, as well as unlock a variety of new items throughout the game.
Furthermore, players can expand their empire by cooperating with up to 2 other friends or players they run into out at sea. They can also enable PVP and challenge aspiring kingpins, powerful organizations, local factions, or even rival pirates.
Based on a multi-year post-launch plan, the game will be regularly updated with new content, activities, stories, and challenges that will be available to all players for free.
