Synology has announced the next-generation 8-bay NAS packed with large capacity and high data management and storage performance for content creators and businesses to meet ever-growing demands in multi-user environments.

Synology DS1921+ NAS

As the 2nd entry of the Plus family that runs a quad-core AMD Ryzen processor, it delivers more than twice the computing power over its predecessor resulting in snappier response and greater performance across Synology’s suite of software such as Drive, Moments, and more. It can fit 2 NV3400 NVMe SSD cache drives with optional PCIe 10GbE NIC to reach speeds of  2312.97 MB/s sequential reads, and 1149.89 MB/s sequential writes over a local network.

For bay slots, it innately supports 8 bays that are expandable to 18 through 2 DX517 expansion units, and with DiskStation Manager plus Hybrid Raid features, users could create arrays using odd-sized drives while still maximizing the storage potential of the array in JBOD/RAID0/1/5/6/10 methods. In addition, the installation is basically plug-and-play to reduce system downtime and smoothen user experience as a whole. Users can gain access to the Active Backup Suite, Snapshot Replication, and Hyper Backup through the Package Center free of charge for backup and restoration solutions.
