Synology has expanded the capabilities of BeeStation Plus by combining storage and the newly added home monitoring hub, while introducing the BeeCamera mobile app to enable a privacy-first surveillance experience that operates առանց cloud dependency or subscription fees.
With the new release, it is now part of the Synology Cameras family as the on-device AI detection is capable of identifying people, pets, vehicles, and intrusion events, while consolidating live viewing, alerts, and event playback into a single interface designed for both local and remote access.
With up to 4 cameras supported per setup, additional monitoring behaviour can be configured via the BeeCamera app, such as adjustable AI detection alerts, recording schedules, and detection zones to minimise unnecessary notifications, alongside flexible retention settings that adapt to available local storage capacity. Then, all detected events are aggregated into a unified timeline, enabling users to review and filter footage efficiently, while key clips can be preserved in dedicated collections to prevent overwriting, supporting both security use cases and personal archiving needs.
The brand is targeting households and micro-business environments with this approach, offering a simplified deployment model without recurring costs, while enabling shared access for up to 8 users to view live feeds, receive alerts, and review recorded events.
