Samsung has recently showcased its latest Odyssey gaming monitors, featuring the Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey G9. Let’s check out each of them.
Samsung Odyssey 3D
First up, the new Odyssey 3D (G90XF) 27-inch monitor features a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms GtG response time, and 4K resolution, alongside AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility to minimize screen lag and choppiness. Using advanced eye-tracking and a proprietary lenticular lens, it delivers an immersive 3D gaming experience without the need for glasses and produces natural-looking HD 3D visuals through the Reality Hub app, making gameplay and videos more engaging.
Beyond gaming, its AI-powered video conversion transforms standard content into 3D, analyzing each scene for consistent effects with minimal eye strain. Edge Lighting enhances immersion further, synchronizing ambient colors beneath the monitor with on-screen action to extend the gaming experience into real life.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G8
Boasting 4K QD-OLED technology, 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms GtG response time, the new Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) comes in 27-inch and 32-inch models, with the 27-inch one offering 166 PPI.
Together with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400, the monitor brings delivers 250nit brightness, Glare Free technology for reduced reflection, and Samsung OLED Safeguard+ for enhanced longevity. Plus, the proprietary Dynamic Cooling System with Pulsating Heat Pipe ensures enhanced heat dissipation without adjusting overall brightness.
Samsung Odyssey G9
Last on the list, the Odyssey G9 (G91F model) is equipped with a 49-inch Dual QHD display with a 1000R curve, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time, providing an immersive ultrawide gameplay experience. Furthermore, VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification ensures vibrant colors with sharp clarity, while HDR10+ GAMING optimizes brightness, contrast, and color range for a more dynamic visual experience.
The Odyssey G9 also excels in multitasking with Picture-by-Picture, allowing users to view two devices simultaneously, and flexible sizing in Picture-in-Picture mode. Additionally, Auto Source Switch+ detects and instantly displays connected devices when powered on, streamlining access to games.
