ROG has officially put up its gold-adorned exclusive GPU, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition, for sale in the Middle East region recently.
Dhahab, which means gold in Arabic, might be the most lavish model to date that completely puts the standard Astral model down on its knees with the 6.5g of actual 999 fineness gold scattered around the outer parts of the card (the insides might have some, but we won’t know until someone is crazy enough to disassemble it).
According to Videocardz, that amount of gold is already at US$700 alone, and combined with the crazy price tag of 26K-30K SAR / 5K JOD / 38.8K AED, which amounts to approximately 6.7K-8K / 7.1K / 10.6K in USD, in addition to the limited release, perhaps this could be the “special and unique” thing for crazy rich folks to flex around when cars and yachts are simply owned by “most people” over there.
As for the card itself, it is presumably performing at the same level as the standard Astral variant with access to the full suite of software support, cooling, and whatnot. Although one might think that with gold being a good thermal conductor that “technically” can help with dissipating heat away from the beastly RTX 5090 GPU, but with only 6.5g of the element utilized, I guess one will definitely feel good running the card inside their system regardless.
