The highly-anticipated ROG Ally is finally available for sale here in Malaysia – and the price is at RM3,299. Is it actually a good price? You tell me instead.

What’s interesting is ROG Malaysia’s decision to not sell the AMD Ryzen Z1 variant (the lower-end one) and instead go straight for the highest-end Z1 Extreme only. The storage got a bump as well, and here is the full list of specs that you need to know.

  • Weight – 608 grams
  • CPU – AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme
  • GPU – AMD Radeon Navi 3 Graphics (RDNA 3)
    • TDP: 9-30W
  • Screen size – 7-inch
    • 1080p 16:9 resolution
    • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 16GB LPDDR5 RAM (6400MT/s) (soldered)
  • 512GB NVMe SSD (M.2 2230 size)
  • 40Wh battery
  • 2 years of international warranty

We already did our teardown of the ROG Ally to see how repairable it is – and from what we found out, it seems to be fairly simple and straightforward. One screwdriver bit is all I needed to go all the way down to the SSD and the joysticks.

The ROG Ally is available to purchase starting 1st July 2023 for the price of RM3,299 – so prepare your wallets! I guess stocks are limited too since this is such a highly-anticipated device.

We have done a lot of videos featuring the Ally already – and you can watch all of them down below here.
