According to them, the complexity of accepting foreign payments and the trust gap with overseas buyers are what hold SMEs back most of the time, with higher base transaction cost, currency conversion issues, compliance complexity, and settlement delays making up the rest of the pie chart.

With this RazorPay Curlec x PayPal partnership, merchants can now use a single unified platform to accept PayPal payments in more than 100 currencies while continuing to support local methods like FPX, cards, and popular e-wallets such as Touch ’n Go, GrabPay, and Boost, meaning they do not have to choose between serving global and domestic customers.

Merchants can also access dashboards to manage payments, transfers, invoices, APIs, and real-time insights to reduce overall complexity and improves transparency across markets.

The integration of PayPal also flows with the streamlining of policy developments such as the UK’s entry into the CPTPP and the Malaysia-US Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, both of which are expected to create more favourable conditions for Malaysian businesses entering Western markets.
