OWC has announced a couple of new stuff over at CES 2026, both focusing on storage products that are either bigger or faster than ever.
First up, the existing ThunderBlade X12 production shuttle RAID SSD is getting a bigger capacity option, pushing it all the way up to 192TB and, in the process, making it the first and only Thunderbolt 5 RAID shuttle drive to offer this kind of storage density and performance in such a compact design.
The new SKU runs on the Thunderbolt 5 protocol for up to 6,600MB/s peak speeds and 5,990MB/s sustained write performance across the entire volume, and when paired with SoftRAID Premium, users get full control over up to 192TB of storage with advanced RAID creation, monitoring, and management, making it a compelling choice for demanding workflows like multi-cam 4K, 6K, and 8K RAW projects, 12K RAW video, stereoscopic 360 VR editing, and large-scale streaming or film productions.
What’s inside, though, are 12x 16TB NVMe SSDs housed within a fanless aluminum chassis for silent operation, includes non-skid rubber feet and a locking power connector for safer use, and offers a configurable LED so users can quickly confirm drive status. There’s also flexibility built in, with support for daisy-chaining up to five additional Thunderbolt devices or connecting a USB-C device through the second Thunderbolt port, along with certifications for Thunderbolt and OWC operating standards to ensure reliability.
Meanwhile, the Envoy Ultra Thunderbolt 5 SSD is getting the magic number eight in 8TB, placing it as the first and right now the only Thunderbolt 5 SSD of its kind. It packs over 6000MB/s transfer speeds while remaining compatible with older TB standards as well as USB4 connections. That means you can plug it into just about anything modern, from Macs and PCs to iPad Pros, Chromebooks, and even Surface devices, without worrying about bottlenecks or odd limitations.
Its design utilizes a fanless aluminum design that dissipates heat quietly, with IP67 water and dust resistance plus crushproof certification providing even more peace of mind.

The 192TB ThunderBlade X12 will be launching in the near future, while the OWC Envoy Ultra Thunderbolt 5 SSD with 8TB of storage lands at US$1,699.99, available now.
