OWC has announced a new CFexpress 4.0 Type B card under the Atlas Core series to offer high-speed storage at a competitive price point towards ontent creators who need dependable performance without paying for top-tier flagship media.
The new card delivers read speeds of up to 3,571MB/s, write speeds of up to 2,227MB/s, and sustained write speeds of 368MB/s which exceeds VPG200 certification requirements and is sufficient for RAW burst photography, 4K video recording, and even compressed 8K video capture while maintaining stable recording without dropped frames.
In terms of compatibility, OWC says that it can be used with a wide variety of cameras, including Canon EOS R-series, Fujifilm GFX, Nikon Z-series, Panasonic Lumix S-series, as well as select Nikon DSLR models such as the D5, D500, and D850, for users upgrading from XQD media.
Users can also find the OWC Innergize software for free, which can monitor card health, restore performance, and install firmware updates. Other than that, the card is durable with various resistance against impact, bending, shock, UV exposure, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and airport X-ray scanners.
