At the Adobe MAX 2024 creative conference, the brand’s Creative Cloud suite is going to receive quite a number of significant updates and most importantly, benefit from NVIDIA RTX GPU acceleration for maximum speedups and improved production flow.

With PhotoShop getting tons of traction thanks to the Gen-AI feature, Premiere Pro will also be getting that in the form of Generative Extend. Powered by the Adobe Firefly Video Model, it can seamlessly extend video frames both at the beginning and at the end, essentially helping creators fill up a clip in case they are lacking a couple of seconds.

Despite there being a disclaimer saying that the model will be commercially safe and trained only on authorized content, only time will tell I guess.

Other AI tools such as Enhance Speech, AI Audio Tagging, and Filler Word Detection will help tackle some of the mundane portions of video editing while the aforementioned Firefly Video Model can also assist in generating filler content or prototype shots based on a source.

On the other hand, the Substance 3D collection has also been upgraded to integrate Firefly-powered tools like Text to Texture, Text to Pattern, and Generative Background, offering enhanced workflows for 3D content creation. These new features, accelerated by NVIDIA RTX GPUs, boost creativity with real-time ray tracing and AI-powered upscaling.

As for Substance 3D Viewer, it is currently scheduled to enter the Open Beta phase and allows teams to open and collaborate on 3D files across platforms like Photoshop. New Firefly tools, including Text to 3D and 3D Model to Image, further expand creative possibilities.

Moving onto After Effects, Adobe is aiming for 3D capability expansion for this round by introducing Advanced 3D Renderer with accelerated HDRI lighting via NVIDIA RTX GPUs. Pairing Substance 3D with After Effects enables seamless integration of 3D materials, significantly boosting realism and visual fidelity.

On a slight note, Topaz Labs has also launched a plug-in for Adobe After Effects, enhancing video quality with AI models that run up to 2.5x faster on GeForce RTX GPUs, specifically benefiting RTX 4090 users.

You can read more about the Adobe update through this blog post or on the flip side, if you’re ready for all of these, be sure to get the new October NVIDIA Studio Driver for maximum performance.
