Kingston Technology has retained its position as the world’s leading third-party DRAM module supplier in 2021, making it the 19th consecutive year it took the top spot.
According to analyst firm TrendForce’s latest revenue rankings, the world’s top five memory module manufacturers accounted for 90% of overall sales in 2021, with Kingston accounting for nearly 80% of that market. TrendForce also stated that pandemic-induced lifestyle changes and demand for remote learning have surged in the past two years which fueled the growth of DRAM module shipments, and Kingston choose the strategy to be ready for those segments, resulting in an 8% year-over-year increase in revenue.
Furthermore, Kingston has upgraded its production infrastructure to suit the upcoming platforms as the market transitions from the DDR4 memory modules to DDR5. The company also started shipping DDR5 modules last year and became the first ever third-party supplier to receive Intel Platform Validation on its DDR5 UDIMMS.
