Local brand ILLEGEAR has revealed two new laptops which are the ATOMIC for the budget buys and SAPPHIRE for the oil barons.

ILLEGEAR ATOMIC 2

The ATOMIC 16 is an interesting one as it deviates from what ILLEGEAR is known for their gaming gears and stuff but instead, this one is just a standard ultrabook for a standard user – no flairs, no RGBs. Using Intel’s 12th Gen Core mobile processors, it provides a lot of computing performance for a relatively low amount of battery consumption, not to mention the block of juice at 70Whr can last you for a very long time.

Despite not being that suitable for gamers, the 16:10 120Hz refresh rate display with 100% sRGB color gamut will let users browse everything with smooth transitions and responsive feedback. Armed with a wide range of ports including 3x USB-A 3.1 and 2x USB-C, you’ll have enough space to host your mouse and external storage devices with ease.

ILLEGEAR SAPPHIRE 1

On the other hand, the SAPPHIRE will give some other models a run for their money because it arrives as one of the best products that money can buy. For starters, pick either Team Blue’s Intel Core i9-12900H or Team Red’s AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX then pick either the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 3080 Ti. And as expected, the RAM is all DDR5 modules.

For the display, one can pick either the base 120Hz or go for the ultra-competitive 240Hz while NVIDIA G-SYNC gives you that smooth and tearless gameplay displayed by the 16:10 INFINIVISION ultra-thin bezel panel. The gaming laptop also utilizes ILLEGEAR’s FLOW cooling solution to make sure the unit can perform at its best condition without thermal throttling.

Gamers will also be delighted that Cherry MX switches are integrated to make sure they don’t need to connect another mechanical keyboard while the Soundblaster Cinema 6+ audio suite will make sure the actions in-game are properly delivered with punchy bass and clear details.

Price and Availability

The new ILELGEAR ATOMIC 16 and SAPPHIRE are both available for preorder now with the former starting at RM3,299 bundling a free 8GB RAM upgrade and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut liquid metal upgrade while the latter starts at RM9,799 with freebies including 1TB SSD upgrade, Liquid Metal for CPU, and one Matmaster RGB Gaming Mousepad.

Both machines are expected to ship starting in late August.
