Although the ROG lineup received full support and attention during CES 2022, ASUS is not forgetting the tried and true TUF series by giving them some love in the form of hardware refresh and slight design updates.
For the 2022 models, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and F17 will be completed with a set of 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU with a maximum TGP of 140W to fully harness the graphics card capabilities in this machine. For extra and finer control overpower, a hardware MUX switch is available for properly switching between the iGPU and discreet one. To match the performance gain without running into thermal issues, the Arc Flow Fans are created to have varying degrees of thickness and a 0.1mm tip to reduce turbulence while improving airflow. Also, competitive gamers will have the ability to opt-in for an FHD 300Hz screen or go for the QHD 165Hz to get more resolution while staying as smooth. Finishing up both devices is a slightly tuned chassis design inspired by anime alongside the long-time standard of meeting the MIL-STD-810H for absolute durability.
On the other hand, the TUF Dash F15 that was introduced last year will also be getting a hardware refresh in the form of 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H together with an up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU with MUX Switch – all without sacrificing the thin and light identify it was made to be known for. The RAM has been upgraded to DDR5 4800MHz to tear through more tasks than the previous model with the 2x PCIe 4.0 slots doing all the transfer at blazing speeds. For stunning visuals, the QHD 165Hz panel with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage is just icing on the cake.
As Intel and NVIDIA stated that new offerings should start popping up in the market starting February, I guess Malaysia would be the same? Hopefully.
