ASUS has confirmed that their NVIDIA MaxQ gaming laptop – GX501 Zephyrus, will be launching on this Thursday, right in time for the ROG Masters Malaysia Qualifiers. It is the world’s slimmest gaming laptop that features 7th generation Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU.
We previously had the chance to get our hands on the Zephyrus during its launching event back in Computex 2017.
ROG-exclusive design and cooling system
What so special about this laptop is its exclusive design and cooling system. The Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) increases the efficiency of the airflow through the laptop with the unique design of the fan and chassis. The fan’s surface cover and accelerator are 3D-curved to enhance the airflow. As shown in above image, when the Zephyrus’ lid is opened, the bottom chassis flexes open to increase the airflow by 20% which further increases the air circulation.
The ASUS Aura RGB keyboard is also positioned away from the top to fit in the heat sink for better cooling of the internal components. As a result, a chassis as thin as 16.9mm yet packed with high performance components.
