As XFX leading the charge of being one of the earliest brands to debut AMD’s new Radeon RX 6600 GPU, ASUS and GIGABYTE have followed up with their own set of offerings in Malaysia as well.
The new GPU debuted for ASUS belongs to the DUAL family for the more budget consensus users while GIGABYTE launches it for the EAGLE series. To summarize these cards, AMD basically positioned the Radeon RX 6600 to compete against NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 by being slightly ahead in the MSRP game and by scanning through various reviews and benchmarks including our own, the card does well in what it promises – 1080p gaming. And really just 1080p gaming as it excels in traditional rasterization with great performance for high FPS counts in a variety of game titles barring modern techs such as ray tracing and some of the productivity tasks. For the 1440p experience, gamers better go for the RX 6600 XT cards instead.
Talking about the design, the ASUS DUAL model stays true to the name by equipping a dual-fan setup covering the heatsink consisting of 3 heat pipes and fin stacks that can keep the card cool enough during loads or enter the “Zero dB” mode for complete silence when idling while the GIGABYTE EAGLE variant steps things up a bit with a triple-fan configuration lubed with graphene nano lubricant and multi-phase power delivery system to deliver a more stable and higher overclocking performance.
