Enterprise and security-focused firms may now enjoy the latest Team Red CPU power, as AMD has announced the Ryzen PRO 9000 series CPUs recently.
These new CPUs are based on the same Zen 5 “Granite Ridge” architecture as the Ryzen 9000 consumer chips, but AMD trimmed them down slightly in favor of business-class management and security features.

With 3 available SKUs at launch, we are looking at 12 cores and 24 threads at the maximum via the Ryzen 9 PRO 9945, while boost frequency is maintained across the board at 5.4GHz as well as the TDP fixed at 65W, which is surprising. Meanwhile, cache capacity are identical to the non-PRO chips as well.
When it comes to performance, AMD claims the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945 can deliver up to 44% faster results in Blender and 22% higher productivity scores against Intel’s Core i7-14700, which is a bold pitch for workstation buyers.
And in a move you probably wouldn’t expect for enterprise chips, AMD is bundling a Wraith Stealth stock cooler in the box (Perhaps they knew enterprise clients have no time to source 3rd party coolers anyway).
But as of now, pricing info as well as availability dates are not revealed, and they’ll most likely pop up in partner systems first before being shipped in standalone units.
