ASUS Malaysia has officially announced a couple of new gaming laptops that come with AMD’s latest ‘Strix Point’ series mobile processor, blessing the ROG and TUF Gaming family with one model each.
Briefly previewed at COMPUTEX 2024, the highlight of both devices is no other than the AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 processor packing 12 cores and 24 threads alongside the Radeon 800M iGPU but that’s not the main point and instead, the Ryzen AI XDNA 2 NPU provides 50 TOPS of AI performance to help you with AI inferencing in various Windows applications and 3rd party supported programs (The dedicated GPU can run them too but its way too power consuming).
For the ROG family, they picked the Zephyrus G16 for its thin and light design portrayed via the premium CNC-milled aluminum chassis, customizable Slash Lighting array, and the exquisite ROG Nebula display. They also took the chance to make it as “1st ROG laptop product with WiFi 7 support” so yeah, just connect it with a supported WiFi router then all the bandwidth you can.
On the other hand, the TUF Gaming goes for the A14 model which is also the family’s very first 14-inch option. Also optimized for thin and light, it proritizes simple yet cool design, ample cooling, and lower entry barrier to enjoy a piece of that Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 performance.
