vPro platform for the 12th Gen Intel Core processors for business arrives with more cybersecurity measures

Last week, Intel has finally announced that its vPro platform of hardware-based security solution is making its way into the 12th Gen Intel Core processors so that businesses can finally move onto the latest computing trend with extensive digital protection.

Aside from bringing a completely different architecture for the 12th Gen Alder Lake chips, the vPro platform is also getting a little bit of update as in categorization because it now has a total of 4 classes: Intel vPro Enterprise, Intel vPro Enterprise for Chrome, Intel vPro Essentials, and Intel vPro – An Intel Evo Design. The first one is the one who always knows and will stay as it is while the Intel vPro – An Intel Evo Design essentially combines the Intel Evo standards created for laptops that makes business devices highly competent for the elites together with additional security measures for protection. Meanwhile, the Intel vPro Enterprise for Chrome is very straightforward – applying Intel vPro Enterprise for Chromebook Enterprise laptops and last but not least, the Intel vPro Essentials is the latest kid in the block aimed to introduce Small to Medium Size Businesses (SMBs) into the vPro platform.

As an overview of the security solution provided, there’s the Intel Hardware Shield combining several basics into a complex package including Dynamic Root of Trust, OS Reporting, extensive options for SMM operations, and more. Additionally, the Intel Control Flow Enforcement Technology offered by previous generation mobile chips is also jumping ship and made available to desktop processors simultaneously too. As for improvements and optimization, the Intel Threat Detection Technology, Total Memory Encryption – Multi-Key (TME-MK), and Intel Virtualization Technology are all within the list of beneficiaries for this round of announcements.
