TP has opened a new operations center in Johor Bahru, extending its presence in Malaysia and strengthening its ability to serve businesses across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region. The new site adds to TP’s existing operations in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, positioned as a strategic nearshore delivery hub covering customer experience, digital operations, and revenue services. For Singapore-based businesses specifically, it offers access to Malaysia’s multilingual talent pool within a closely connected cross-border operating model.

Sitting just across the Causeway from Singapore, Johor Bahru brings geographical proximity and cultural alignment that TP says make oversight, training, and governance easier for sectors like banking, fintech, travel, and hospitality. The site falls within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, which TP expects will help it capture growing demand from Singapore-headquartered companies, global business services centers, and multinational organizations expanding across the region.
The expansion comes as Malaysia’s Global Business Services industry continues to grow. According to the Ministry of Digital, the country is home to 749 GBS companies, with industry revenue projected to reach RM28.14 billion, reflecting the country’s talent base, digital infrastructure, and appeal to investors. Johor’s status as one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing economic regions adds further weight to its potential as a hub for technology-enabled services and cross-border operations.
Beyond expanding delivery capacity, the new site also feeds into TP’s broader talent strategy, tapping into one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas to create opportunities for local talent in customer experience, digital operations, and AI-enabled service delivery, while supporting regional and global enterprises across Southeast Asia.
Andy Rangel, CEO of TP in Malaysia, said the Johor Bahru site builds on the company’s established operations in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, marking an important step in its growth across the country. He described the location as giving TP access to strong multilingual talent while creating a distinct nearshore option for Singapore-based businesses seeking more agility, scalability, and operational resilience, adding that as AI continues to reshape customer experience, Johor Bahru is positioned to play a growing role in pairing technology with skilled human expertise.
At the time of the launch, the new facility will support a major global e-commerce company, with future growth expected to come from both multinational organizations and Singapore-based enterprises looking for nearby, high-quality customer experience and digital business services. The site will also support TP’s growing Revenue as a Service capabilities in Malaysia, helping companies extend their sales and revenue operations through specialized talent, technology, and AI-enabled solutions.
