This model supports the 802.11be standard and uses features like Multi-Link Operation (MLO), ultrawide 160MHz channels, and 4K-QAM modulation to squeeze more efficiency out of the airwaves, translating to up to 7200Mbps of wireless throughput and a noticeably smoother experience for online gaming, low-latency streaming, and large file transfers, especially in congested environments.

The device is equipped with 6x internal antennas, including a boosted 5GHz setup using a 5T5R (five transmit, five receive) design for improved long-range throughput by up to 15%, which should make a difference for people gaming or streaming from bedrooms, upstairs rooms, or further corners of the house where WiFi usually starts to struggle.

On the software side, the built-in ROG Gaming Network prioritizes gaming traffic to keep latency low during competitive sessions, while WiFi 7 AiMesh support lets it work as part of a wider mesh system for larger homes. For users not really in the gaming zone, the ASUS Smart Home Master can be found too, helping you splitting your network into separate profiles for kids, IoT devices, and VPN usage, alongside support for up to 30 VPN clients and protocols like WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPSec, and it rounds things off with ASUS Network Security features such as AiProtection and Safe Browsing for extra protection across connected devices.
