MSI Malaysia is currently opening preorders for the refreshed Raider 16 and Crosshair 16 series to carry a newer set of hardware for a better gaming experience.

MSI Raider and Crosshair New Model Preorder (1)

The Raider 16 and Raider 16 Max HX secures the lineup with performance through the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU or Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU. RAM can go up to 128GB DDR5, and PCIe 4.0 SSDs are pre-installed with additional PCIe 5.0 SSD support.

A 16-inch QHD+ OLED panel running at 240Hz with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 does the display, while the redesigned Cooler Boost Trinity system uses three fans, six heat pipes, and a five-exhaust layout to tackle the 300W package without overwhelming noise.

Practical features come in the form of an easy upgrade path thanks to the quick-access panel for RAM and SSD, per-key RGB via SteelSeries, Wi-Fi 7, and a full set of high-bandwidth I/O, including dual Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.1 with 8K output support.

Meanwhile, the Crosshair 16 gets a thinner body at just 21.9mm now, but still packs quite the power with Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 200W combined power. Display-wise, MSI scales it slightly back to a 2.5K OLED panel at 165Hz with DisplayHDR True Black 500, which still hits that sweet spot between visual quality and performance.

Cooling uses a dual-fan, five-heat pipe setup with four exhaust vents, with the I/O maintained at 3x USB-A, 2x USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and Ethernet.

As mentioned, preorders for these new models are now live until May 22, and early bird promos include an RM200 Touch ‘n Go eWallet code for Raider buyers, while Crosshair buyers get RM100 instead. On top of that, all pre-order customers get a 12-month NordVPN subscription, and there’s an additional 1-year extended warranty if you submit a product review after purchase.
