HP has recently concluded its Imagine 2026 keynote with loads of announcements, and the general idea is that they are going all-in on AI across pretty much everything – devices, security, workflows, the whole ecosystem.
Why? According to them, there’s an issue about people having the digital tools, but work is still not as smooth as one might think, as only about 20% of people feel they have a healthy relationship with work, and tech issues are still breaking focus pretty often. But when companies get the tools right, it makes a big difference. HP says employees are way more positive about their work, and internally, their AI PCs even boosted productivity by around 16%.
First up is HP’s entry to the in-house made on-device AI called HP IQ, where all modern PC releases from HP will be able to use it to tackle things like document summarizing, keeping track of notes, responding to you via voice and text, etc.
On the other hand, HP NearSense is not user sensing but instead, device sensing, as it can initiate connection with nearby devices and get them work together more naturally without the technical hassle, where users will be able to drag files directly between PCs or joining meetings with a single click. Over time, they want this to extend across everything, including their Poly conferencing gear and even printers.
Hardware-wise, they also rolled out new AI PCs like the EliteBook 6 G2q, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series chips, pushing up to 85 TOPS of AI performance for all the AI-heavy workflows to go with long battery life, 5G connectivity, and tighter security baked in.
Speaking of security, there’s the new HP TPM Guard, which directly tackles physical attacks on encryption systems like BitLocker. It basically locks down the connection between the TPM and CPU, so attackers can’t intercept data even if they have physical access to the device. Alongside that, they’re expanding their HP Wolf Security stack to better integrate with enterprise tools and reduce overall cyber risk.
On the printing side, HP is pushing AI-powered document workflows with new LaserJet series printers, combining faster processing, OCR features, and even quantum-resistant security so that even things as “insignificant” as printers could not become the point of entry for sensitive organizations.
For high-end users, especially in AI development and creative workloads, they introduced new workstations like the Z8 Fury, which can be configured with up to four NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q GPUs for heavy compute, simulations, and advanced AI work.
The gaming department receives a new prebuilt desktop in the form of OMEN MAX 45L that can be equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, while their OMEN AI software now auto-optimizes performance in games like Minecraft, Roblox, and Marvel Rivals with just one click.
