As the number of Genshin Impact characters grow, it has been long rumored that miHoYo would soon launch dual featured character banners to give players an additional gacha option, especially for character reruns.
That goes without saying, the Character Event Wish-2 (New Type) is officially announced during the Genshin Impact version 2.3 special live stream today. Here’s all you need to know how the new game mechanics would work.
What is Character Event Wish-2?
Instead of having:
- Character Event Wish
- Weapon Event Wish
- Standard Wish
The new update will be:
- Character Event Wish
- Character Event Wish-2
- Weapon Event Wish
- Standard Wish
Simply put, there will be TWO Character Event Wish banners happening at the same time.
How Does it Work?
If you’re familiar with the usual Character Event Wish banner, the same concept applies to the second banner.
- Both Character Event Wish banners will share the same Pity Count – 90 for 5-star, 10 for 4-star
- If you failed to obtain 5-star character after making 30 wishes in the First Banner, you will only need to make a maximum 60 wishes in the Second Banner to obtain the 5-star character.
- If you failed to obtain 4-star character/weapon after making 7 wishes in the First Banner, you will only need to make a maximum 3 wishes in the Second Banner to obtain a 4-star character/weapon.
- The Pity Count will carry forward to the next update.
- If you made 30 wishes in any of the Character Event Wish banners, it will carry forward to the next update. The pull count will not reset.
- The 50:50 Pity and Guarantee Pity are also shared by both banners.
- If you failed the 50:50 at obtaining the character in either banner after reaching the Pity, the next Pity will be guaranteed.
- This means you can choose which banner to spend your 100% Guarantee Pity.
When will Character Event Wish-2 be available?
The new banner update will arrive in Genshin Impact Version 2.3, coming soon on November 24, 2021. The first Dual Banner will be Albedo and Eula taking place at the same time until Arataki Itto and Gorou banner arrives.
