Daniel Schier “Dancop”, renown overclocker from Germany has just won the title of OC World Cup Champion for the 5th G.SKILL Annual OC World Cup 2018, taking home the ultimate grand prize of $10,000 USD.
The annual G.SKILL OC World Cup is known as one of the biggest overclocking competition with the largest single cash prize for the champion at $10,000 USD. The top six qualified contestants from the online qualifier stage – [email protected], Dancop, Lau Kin Lam, Lucky_noob, rsannino, and rtsurfer – competed head-to-head, live in front of worldwide audiences from the tech industry at the G.SKILL Computex booth.
In the Grand Final stage, the two finalists –[email protected] and Dancop – were racing neck-to-neck with both contestants using Intel® Core™ i7-8700K processors and ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X APEX motherboards, until the final moments when Dancop came out on top and won the competition. The intense competition brought out the overclocking spirit from each competitor, pushing each hardware platform to its maximum performance limits under extreme sub-zero liquid nitrogen cooling.
