It’s that time of the year again, as G.SKILL has just announced its 10th annual OC World Cup 2026 overclocking competition, with a total prize pool of US$40,000 up for grabs.
Drawing top overclockers from around the world, the OC World Cup 2026 features three stages — Online Qualifier, Live Qualifier, and Grand Final — with the top 9 competitors advancing to compete live at the G.SKILL booth (Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, booth I0818) during COMPUTEX 2026, using liquid nitrogen cooling down to -196°C to push hardware to their limits.
Here’s a quick schedule of the competition:
- Online Qualifier: 15 February — 23 March 2026
- Live Qualifier: 2 June — 4 June 2026
- Grand Final: 5 June 2026
The Online Qualifier will take place on HWBOT, where participants are required to use G.SKILL DDR5 memory and an Intel Z790 or Z890 platform to compete across five overclocking challenges: maximum memory frequency, 7-ZIP, PYPrime 32B, SuperPi-32M, and Y-Cruncher 2.5B.
When it comes to the prizes, this year’s OC World Cup offers a grand total prize pool of US$40,000, with the following breakdown of the cash prize:
- OC Champion: US$10,000
- 2nd place: US$6,500
- 3rd place: US$5,000
- 4th place: US$4,200
- 5th place: US$3,400
- 6th place: US$3,000
- 7th place: US$2,800
- 8th place: US$2,600
- 9th place: US$2,500
Furthermore, the top 9 overclockers from the Online Qualifier will each bring home a DDR5-8000 32GB (2x16GB) memory kit, while two additional participants who successfully complete all five challenge trials will be randomly selected to win a DDR5-7200 32GB (2x16GB) memory kit each.
