ASUS ROG Malaysia has announced the ROG Strix Arion S500 which is basically the ROG Strix Arion SSD enclosure but with an actual flash storage drive inside instead of being a hollow shell.

ASUS ROG Strix Arion S500

Inside the ROG Strix Arion S500 is a high-performance Phison SSD rated at delivering transfer speeds of up to 1050MBps through USB-C port running USB 3.2 Gen 2 standards without dropping performance over sustained loads thanks to the presence of a DRAMchip and big SLC cache that also contributes to the better longevity of the drive. To provide even better thermal conductivity, this time around ASUS has added an internal thermal pad to quickly dissipate heat and preventing thermal throttling in the process. And don’t think that it has weak security standards because it is a “gamer” product, it too uses 256-bit AES disk and data encryption and adding on top of the NVI Backup Now software that helps with accidentally file deletion or hardware failure, rest assured that your files and data are safe for daily use whenever you go. Lastly, the RGB lighting is there together with the SSD dashboard showing you all the vital information you need, in case you’re a nerdy person that cares about numbers.

Pricing and Availability

Hold your horses if you think you can buy the ASUS ROG Strix Arion S500 now. Not now, unfortunately. But it will become available for preorder at the price of RM559 during the 9.9 campaign on both Lazada and Shopee so as the main day approaches, at the very least, you don’t need to worry about the thing getting sold out in seconds.
