A new generation of ROG NUC has arrived, this time it is given the ROG NUC 16 name (Not to be confused with ROG NUC from last year, because I’m confused for one).
At least everything looks sort of familiar, but with the underlying hardware updated to Intel Core i9 9 290HX Plus paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, which is powerful enough to run games and AI workloads without breaking a sweat. That’s also possible due to the maximum RAM capacity of 128GB, too.
New to this design is the integration of QuietFlow Cooling thermal solution, featuring tri-fan setup with dual vapor chamber as well as dedicated SSD heatsink – all running together with noise levels of under 38 dB(A) only.
Aside from the standard black model, the Moonlight White Edition color makes an appearance here. The removable stand is a neat touch too, letting you run it vertically or horizontally depending on your setup, whether that’s a multi-display workstation with up to five 4K monitors or a living room rig pushing up to 8K output. You also get Thunderbolt 4 for fast external storage and GlideX for cross-device screen sharing.
