The fruit born between ASUS and Noctua has been revealed, the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, which is possibly one of the best air-cooled GPUs in the industry.

Pretty sure Noctua fans already knew what the brand is capable of but for those not in the PC building scene, Noctua is basically one of the most trusted brands when it comes to air cooling solutions in PC rigs, just like how Sony is in terms of video and audio. Therefore, the collaboration between them and ASUS signifies a new partnership and era where 2 companies combine their expertise and create a product that is capable of performing at the very best – literally and practically.

ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition 1

To start things off, the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition runs a couple of NF-A12x25 fans to tackle the heat transfer process of the large 2.3-slot heatsink while further fine-tuning the fin density and heat pipe arrangement to present a smooth acoustic, high cooling yet low noise experience and to be fair, the cost of this “optimization” comes at the GPU’s size which is a massive 4.3 slot – an actual no joke of a chonky card. The reason why ASUS chooses the NF-A12x25 fan is because of Noctua’s industry-leading Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer made impeller with a super low thermal expansion coefficient which in turn provides its ability to be fitted as close to the outer frame as possible at just 0.5mm away and high-efficiency rate when it comes to countering the back pressure by reducing the airflow leakage between the blade tips and outer frame. Furthermore, the metal-reinforced motor hub and axis support the entire narrow yet precise gap to the fullest. On the ASUS’s side of things, they have embedded the card with a Dual-Mode BIOS switch that consists of either Quiet mode for a balance between noise and performance and 0dB mode, a light load-focused profile that creates minimum noise. Aesthetic-wise, it completely carries the signature Noctua profile of brown colors with varying degrees of hue and brightness. A real big chocolate bar, if you wish.
