After making its previous China-only Ryzen 5 3500X available to other regions, there’s another surprise from AMD for this month – the OEM-only Ryzen 5 3500 will be available in the Japanese market at the price of 14,680 JPY not inclusive of tax (approximately $132 USD) starting from February 22.
While AMD has confirmed that the Ryzen 5 3500X will be available in Malaysia starting from next week at the price of 639 MYR, it is still unknown if the Ryzen 5 3500 is only exclusive to the Japanese market.
Model | Ryzen 5 3500X | Rzyen 5 3500 |
Cores/Threads | 6/6 | 6/6 |
Base Clock Speed | 3.6GHz | 3.6GHz |
Boost Clock Speed | 4.1GHz | 4.1GHz |
Cache | 32MB | 16MB |
TDP | 65W | 65W |
Taking closer at the specifications, we can clearly see that the Ryzen 5 3500 is pretty much a Ryzen 5 3500X with its L3 cache nerfed to 16MB as compared to the 32MB L3 cache on the Ryzen 5 3500X.
Similar to the Ryzen 5 3500X, AMD is targeting the Intel Core i5-9400F as well with the Ryzen 5 3500. With locked multiplier and memory frequency capped at 2666MHz, the Ryzen 5 3500 has the upper hand in terms of CPU and memory overclocking.
AMD isn’t holding back at all even though we’re only 2 months into 2020 and that makes us wonder, just what kind of products can we expect from AMD by the end of the year?
