Alibaba Cloud has teamed up with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to roll out the SME Digitalisation Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at speeding up digital transformation for Malaysia’s SMEs and SMBs.

Alibaba CLoud MDEC Digitalization Program

Built in support of MDEC’s Business Digitalisation Initiative, the program is designed to help local businesses make full use of AI and cloud computing so they can boost productivity, innovate faster, and compete more effectively on a global scale. Since MSMEs are central to Malaysia’s socioeconomic growth and play a key role in achieving the 2030 GDP targets under the 13th Malaysia Plan, this effort zeroes in on a critical national priority.

The program is structured around four pillars of Awareness, Upskilling, Adoption, and Innovation – all for creating a framework that helps SMEs adopt digital tools more confidently while strengthening the broader business ecosystem.

Under the SME Digitalisation Program, businesses can expect targeted initiatives ranging from educational campaigns and hands-on workshops to webinars and ready-to-use solution kits, all aimed at guiding SMEs through each stage of their digital journey. With a strong focus on practical upskilling and real-world implementation, the program is geared toward helping SMEs become a digitally capable force that advances Malaysia’s national digital transformation under the Malaysia Digital initiative.

This partnership highlights Alibaba Cloud’s ongoing commitment to Malaysia’s digital economy by offering secure, scalable, and accessible technologies that support innovation and long-term resilience. Together, Alibaba Cloud and MDEC aim to close capability gaps and build an inclusive ecosystem that empowers local businesses nationwide.
