A10 Networks is expanding its AI security strategy with the acquisition of TrojAI, a company focused on securing, testing, and governing AI applications, models, and agentic workflows. The move adds a range of AI-specific security capabilities to A10’s portfolio and reflects growing enterprise demand for tools that can protect AI systems as they move from experimentation into large-scale production use.
A10 does not expect the transaction to materially affect its fiscal 2026 financial performance. Instead, the company sees the acquisition as a strategic investment that will help it address the growing need for AI security solutions over the coming years as enterprises increase adoption of generative and agentic AI technologies.
As for TrojAI, they enable 2 core layers of protection – Its red teaming technology helps organizations identify vulnerabilities in AI models, applications, and agents during development, while its runtime protection platform defends those systems once deployed. Combined with A10’s existing hardware-based AI firewall technologies, the company aims to provide end-to-end protection for AI workloads across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Another addition is native compatibility with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a rapidly growing standard that allows AI agents to interact with external tools and services. A10 believes this capability positions the company ahead of many competitors in securing next-generation AI ecosystems.
Meanwhile, a feedback loop is created between TrojAI’s red teaming platform and A10’s AI guardrail models. Security findings gathered from real-world deployments can be used to continuously improve threat detection and protection, helping organizations respond more effectively to evolving AI-specific risks.
TrojAI also brings enterprise credibility through deployments within Fortune 50 organizations, providing A10 with proven technology and additional AI security expertise. The combined platform is expected to strengthen A10’s offerings across application delivery, DDoS protection, application security, API security, and AI security, creating a more comprehensive security stack for organizations deploying AI-powered services.
A10 President and CEO Dhrupad Trivedi said traditional security tools were not designed for non-deterministic AI models and autonomous agents, creating new challenges for enterprises adopting generative AI. By integrating TrojAI’s software-driven security capabilities with A10’s infrastructure expertise, customers will be able to secure AI models, data, and agents while maintaining performance and meeting data sovereignty requirements.
TrojAI CEO Lee Weiner said the acquisition will allow the company to scale its technology through A10’s global reach while helping enterprises and public-sector organizations maintain control over their AI security infrastructure.
